  1. Internet is an amazing tool. It is the place where you can find everything, at every hour, from each geographical point of the Earth, in any language. It stores a huge, enormous quantity of information, which can be helpful, useless, practical, surprising, secret, immoral, funny, written, spoken or screened. We have everything at our disposal. It remains the easiest thing to realize: to filter and sort the information received.
Besides this, the World Wide Web is in the strongest interaction with our daily life. We chat, we post updates about our recent activity, we are searching for our love, for a new pair of shoes and even for a job.
Social portals have gained the confidence of the web users and an audience in a permanent expansion. Facebook, hi5, twitter, myspace- always and everywhere. Some of them are easier, some of them a harder to understood, but what is certain about them is that they can offer only a social satisfaction of communicating and sharing information.
What I like about Linkedin it is the fact that it combines in it two components: it is a modern trend (social portal) and it is a useful network that has a direct impact on your real life. Linkedin offers you a job! You have to simply post your resume on the site and receive the desired job offer. Linkedin supplies both of the parties with the necessary human resources: the employer and the employee. On the site you can:
    • Find potential clients
    • Be found for business opportunities
    • Search for great jobs
    • Post and distribute job listing
    • Find high quality candidates
    • Get introduced to other professionals through the people you know

Linkedin is widely used in the world business sector. Companies establish contacts through Linkedin and lots or corporations like apple or Google invest in it.
If you don’t connect to Linkedin, you are left out” (BBC)

I am a freshman on Linkedin. What I did is creating an account. My profile is still empty :) However, I hope that I will update it as soon as possible. And I hope that Linkedin is going to confirm my expectations.
And what about you? Do you have a Linkedin account? :)

  2. The purpose of the site is to allow registered users to maintain a list of contact details of people they know and trust in business. The people in the list are called Connections. Users can invite anyone (whether a site user or not) to become a connection.

LinkedIn also allows users to research companies with which they may be interested in working. When typing the name of a given company in the search box, statistics about the company are provided. These may include the ratio of female to male employees, the percentage of the most common titles/positions held within the company, the location of the company's headquarters and offices, or a list of present, past, and former employees.
In my opinion this kind of sites is going to become very popular..a very important tools for both, employers and emploees..LinkedIn is a sign of globalization.

  5. LinkedIn is like a professional-oriented service that is used to build professional relationships between its users. It is an excellent way to find former associates, friends, students, etc.
In my opinion people use LinkedIn for two basic things. First, it helps people to find a job. Second, is to connect with people they know.
LinkedIn helps you be more effective in your daily work, to develop and manage your network of business contacts. :)

  6. LinkedIn - another social networking site? No LinkedIn is much more, it is something more complex, more sophisticated. Launched in May 2003, LinkedIn is mainly used as a professional networking, all users of this site have one purpose to maintain connections with people they did, do or intend to do business. Also LinkedIn is a useful tool in finding jobs because nowadays a lot of head-hunters search through LinkedIn user the specialists they need in their companies. I think that this site is a very useful tool in finding a job especially for future graduates....so my dear classmates start using LinkedIn because there is a hard world behind the university walls...and we all need a job to survive...but due to recent economic crisis there are not such many job openings on the market...so don't waste your time become a LinkedIn-er.
